I am a passionate about fitness, nutrition, breathwork and mindfulness since I can remember but that did not stop me from going to A countless visits to the doctor for my son’s eczema, the doctor couldn’t do anything for him anymore, so I decided to try something different in his diet to see if it would make a difference; I removed gluten and dairy from our diet and after three weeks, his eczema was totally gone!
I started making all of our foods from scratch, using substitutions everywhere I could. I have a fish and shellfish allergy, my son is allergic to eggs and now we were cutting dairy, gluten from our diet!
After my certification, I realized that most people couldn’t keep their healthy habits because they lacked cooking skills. I then started to teach cooking classes in our primary school to kids about allergies, healthy eating habits, cooking with substitutions, knife skills and meal preparation. The parents (me included!) loved that their kids were able to help them in the kitchen after and apply the skills they had learned at school.
This became my passion: Teaching Cooking Skills to help people stick to a healthy diet.
After 10 years using these skills, I made a serious VEGAN jump after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021.
Cooking vegan had a positive impact on my overall health, I lost 35lbs, my energy is better now then it was 15 years ago and I feel like I can take on the world!
What I did not know at the time of teaching cooking classes to my son at school…
My son was 5 years old back then and he really liked eating and cooking, specially when I was the teacher! He continue cooking with me daily and learn the skills.
Little I knew he would be the one cooking for me on my healing journey! Everyday that I did not feel strong enough to cook, he was spoiling with meals cooked to perfection without a recipe!
As a mom, I can’t tell you enough how impress and proud I felt when he came to me with a special vegan meal cooked just for me with a big smile of accomplishment…my heart filled with warmth, what a nice pay off!
My story would probably be very different if I did not share my cooking skills with him, that is why I want to share it with you too…
